Then a couple of us headed over to Nismolism at Cal State Fullerton. They were trying for a record gathering of Nissans in one place, but from the looks of it, they fell well short. There was still a really good turn out of modified Nissans, with the 240SX, and the drift guys being most represented. Then a good number of 350’s and G’s. A few R35 GT-R’s, and even a couple of older heritage Nissan Skyline GT-R’s.

This caught my eye on eBay. A small block Chrysler in a 1989 Toyota Supra body. It would not have been my first choice of an engine swap, but its different. If different is good, then this is good. The wiring, the body kit, and the hood leave a little to be desired. If you were trying for the sleeper look, you missed by a bit. Right now with 5 days remaining, its only bid up to $510.
This is a 408 cubic inch smallblock mopar stroker motor. Internal balanced rotating assembly. forged pistons and rods. ported heads, edelbrock air gap intake, complete msd ignition also distributer. --- New build!! custom long tube headers, and dual exhaust custom driveshaft, custom trans crossmember and motorplate. 727 mopar transmission with cheeta pro-street valve body 3,000 stahl converter b+m pro ratchet shifter. the body mods include evo body kit , fiberglass vented fenders, bomex rear spoiler, harwood 6 inch cowl induction on fibergass hood . 5 brand new rims and nitto 55r drag radials on rear, new fronts, hoosier drag slick 28by10by17 fit perfect and so much more real fast not a boy toy!!!

The history of the worlds most powerful touring car.
Engine is from a Toyota Century, radiator is a GT-R and is used as a core support on the front panel, bellhousing is an R34 Skyline, he says the brochure lists the engine as 280bhp, so hes guessing 300bhp but he doesn't know really. It has lots of torque though and uses 2 x 1JZ ECU's to control it. He says something weird which I think means something along the lines of "you cant polish a turd". He says "ゴミとゴミを合わせて" which I think means put "rubbish and crap put together"
In the next video, the car sounds a bit better. They might have eliminated some of the mufflers. It needed something. A V12 should have a nice sound, like an inline 6 - x2. This seems like a pretty tough way to make around 300hp. Interesting. Different. The startup build video.

Durability and Insurance: One of the biggest concerns we had was how we made sure our case stayed attached to a moving vehicle that experiences close to 2g's of lateral acceleration and speeds upwards of 160mph on the race track. We exhaustively tested a number of suction pod mounts that ultimately left a lot to be desired. We knew we had to include a robust solution that could be flexible and mobile enough to capture a multitude of different angles of video as well as have the suction power to anchor our device. The Cleat made by Wood's was the device that ultimately delivered what we needed. It utilizes an actual pump to suck out air and can hold up to a 10lb camera with ease. The Igloo case with the iphone 4 weighs in at only a third of what the Cleat can handle making it overkill (just the way we like it).
I have a program for my iPhone called Harry’s Lap Timer. I have been looking for a good case, to take advantage of the GPS lap timer, and camera overlay functions.
Harry‘s GPS LapTimer is the iPhone tool for lap timing. Offering advanced data recording, it is the ideal companion for amateur racing. Utilizing GPS, LapTimer will automatically stop your laps and sector times. With laps stored in a database, you can track your progress while improving your lap times corner by corner. Using your existing iPhone, LapTimer is an extremely inexpensive option compared to standalone solutions.

COBB Tuning is giving away a free AccessPORT in each of the markets we support in an effort to drive donations to assist with the medical bills from Dylan and Noah Levy's upcoming partial liver transplant surgery. Their father/son transplant is scheduled for February 7th, which is rapidly approaching, so time is of the essence!
Noah is half of the two brother team that owns LIC Motorsports, a Subaru performance specialty shop based in Novato, CA. LIC Motorsports. You may have become aware of their racing efforts in the 2010 Redline Time Attack Series through their season long documentary called "The Underdogs". These videos show just what can be accomplished with little more than drive, determination and a true love of cars and racing. Noah and Adam have made lasting impressions on their fellow competitors as well as the car enthusiast community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Throughout the 2010 racing season, few of us were aware of the stress the Levy's were dealing with away from the track in dealing with Dylan's illness. Dylan is Noah and Amber's 5 year old son, and he has biliary atresia. It is a condition that affects the liver from birth and has advanced to the point that little Dylan now requires a liver transplant. His dad, Noah, is the only available donor right now, and will be donating half of his liver to his son on February 7th. Episode 5 of "The Underdogs" drives home just how stressful this year has been and how dire Dylan's situation is now.
This is a very difficult time for the Levy's and while the upcoming medical bills are not what their focus is on right now, it is something they will have to face in the near future. COBB Tuning is donating six AccessPORTs (one each for Subaru, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Nissan, MINI and BMW) as an incentive to drive donations to help the Levy's deal with the post surgery bills.
Donations can be made directly to the Levy family via their website at http://www.dylanwlevy.com/donate.html. For every $10 donated, you will receive one entry to win an AccessPORT for your vehicle manufacturer. Multiples of $50 donations receive six entries to win. Simply email your PayPal donation receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, vehicle manufacturer, telephone number, email address and street address. You will receive a confirmation for the number of entries recorded. The drawings will be held on February 7th and the winners will be notified via email.
Let's show the Levy's just how close knit a community we are!

Episode 5 of "The Underdogs"
STILLEN had a FWD 6 speed Juke on the dyno both stock, and with their axle back exhaust. The design of the exhaust for the FWD and AWD is a little different, but the gains will be similar. 13 horsepower at the wheels, and 14 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels. The dyno chart is impressive, gains everywhere.
Below is a video showing the MR16 engine. The engine is a direct injection, gasoline turbocharged engine. DLC coatings, beehive valve springs, and sodium filled exhaust valves. It sounds more like a race engine, than an engine for a crossover vehicle. Running 11 psi, it is showing over 170 hp to the wheels, on an engine rated at 188 hp at the engine. This engine seems like it could be a great engine addition to Nissans engine lineup. Better fuel economy, more power, the best of both worlds.

Inside Line took a 2012 Nissan GT-R to the dyno at GMG racing, and it made 430 whp, and 397 lb-ft of torque. Even though the specs for the 2012 Nissan GT-R say it runs 13 psi, and the specs for the 2009-2011 Nissan GT-R say it made 10.8 psi peak, on the dyno the 2012 actually made a little less boost (just under 11 psi) than the 2009(about 12 psi).
Inside Line speculates that the 91 octane fuel may be the root of it. If they can clock 0-60 times in 2.9 seconds, and 1/4 mile times in 11.1@124 mph and only make about 12 psi of boost, we will see some 10 second stock cars in 93 octane land out there.
