Good Time to Get A Referee Ticket in California

Per the Governor's Executive Order issued on July 31, 2008 concerning the state budget, Referee and Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) Repair Assistance, and Vehicle Retirement services have been suspended until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience. Consumers may call the Department of Consumer Affairs, Consumer Information Center at (800) 952-5210. Also, please check our web site periodically to confirm when both Referee and CAP services will resume..
Thank the screwed up budget in California for something

All that means is that low income people who need to apply for assistance to have repairs done to pass the smog test, and people who want to retire their polluting cars instead of repairing them, will not be able to do so. You still have to comply with the laws. There is just no assistance for low income people who cannot afford to do so . How in the world is that good news???!!!
