At the end of 2022, Bestcarweb says that we should expect a mild hybrid R35 GT-R. This mild-hybrid doesn't seem like it would be around long, unless the final edition is even further out. Using a 48 volt system the Hybrid GT-R will be able to meet ever increasing and difficult to meet worldwide emissions regulations. There are places in the world where new gasoline cars will be mandated out of existence starting in just a few years. More countries following suit soon after.
The aim is to clear the noise regulations by making the engine sound mild while improving fuel efficiency by covering the torque in the middle range with the motor.

I actually just gathered parts for a mild hybrid system for an RB26dett, or Nissan Skyline system. A mild hybrid system allows you to "cheat" some parts of emissions testing. Since most all emissions testing is done at low speed, and fairly low load, adding a small electric motor into the mix, will make the gasoline engine work less. If you can get start/stop to work, then there are periods during the FTP testing, that the engine isn't running, and isn't emitting any emissions. We didn't make the test, we just make cars try and meet what you tell us we have to meet.

Someone asked me what car I am going to run this on. The funny part was I didn't have an answer. I wasn't really thinking about the car, just the system, and trying to make it work. I know the early BAS on the Saturns had issues with belts and tensioners related to start and stop.

So pretty compact, and not that heavy. Weight is always a concern, as we dont want to add any more weight than we have to. You will take away all the benefits by adding too much weight.
