Rare 4-Door Legend: 1992 Nissan Skyline Autech Version for Sale in Cypress, California

Rare 4-Door Legend: 1992 Nissan Skyline Autech Version for Sale in Cypress, California

When people talk about the R32 generation Skyline, the GT-R usually steals the spotlight—but there’s a lesser-known, factory-built unicorn that deserves just as much attention. The 1992 Nissan Skyline Autech Version is that car: a 4-door RB26-powered AWD sedan, built by Autech in ultra-limited numbers. Only 201 examples were ever produced, and each one was uniquely finished in JK0 Light Yellowish Green Metallic.

Available now through Toprank Importers, this Autech R32 combines everyday practicality with serious JDM heritage.

🔧 Specifications

  • Engine: RB26DE (Naturally Aspirated)

  • Transmission: Automatic

  • Drivetrain: ATTESA All-Wheel Drive

  • Odometer: 125,502 km (~77,983 miles)

  • Right-Hand Drive (RHD)

🏁 What Makes the Autech R32 Special?

This isn't a pieced-together R32 with a swapped motor—it’s a factory Autech build, pulled off the assembly line and converted at Autech’s facility in Japan. The RB26DE is a naturally aspirated version of the GT-R’s legendary twin-turbo engine, offering unique power delivery and a high-revving character. With AWD and an automatic transmission, it’s built more for refined performance than all-out aggression.

You can read more about this rare variant on GTR-Registry.

🛠️ Recent Maintenance & Service

This Autech Skyline has been freshly serviced with key preventative work done:

  • New Spark Plugs, Battery, Fuel Filter, Air Cleaner

  • New Tie Rod Ends & Ball Joints (Front/Rear)

  • New HICAS Hoses

  • Fresh Fluids: Engine Oil, Transmission, Diffs, Transfer, Brake, Coolant (Wako's fluids)

  • A/C Recharge – R134a

This example is ready for daily enjoyment, collection, or light restoration to concours condition.

📍 Available Now at Toprank Importers – Cypress, CA

Whether you're a Skyline collector or just love obscure JDM history, the Autech R32 is a sleeper gem. It’s one of the rarest variants of the R32 chassis and a perfect blend of function, rarity, and vintage Nissan engineering.

Skyline GT-R Projects, Shop Expansions, and Other Weird Things We’re Working On in 2025

There are only so many hours in the day—and too many GT-R-related projects going at once. Some are simple mods, some are massive undertakings. Others are just ideas or tech experiments that might evolve into something real (or might not). Here’s a look at what’s in the works, what’s almost finished, and what’s still halfway bolted together.

🚗 R34 GT-R Inventory

🚗 Current Nissan Skyline Inventory

This grid shows all imported Nissan Skyline models — sorted by year so R34 GT-Rs (1999–2002) appear first.

Project Highlights

What ChatGPT things Greg's car looks like.

Greg’s S15 (Spec-R Aero)

This car has been a struggle—but we’re finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s been part emissions project, part gremlin, and part “why did we start this again?” But when it’s done, it’ll be a solid Nissan Challenge car.

Ernie. Not Ernie's car. that is Jun II

Ernie’s R32 GT-R

Ernie’s car is getting serious track time. It’s more of a street car than Brian’s, but shares some critical hardware with some other cars—including the OS88 sequential. It’s helping us stress test driveline setups, tire compounds, and long session cooling under real-world abuse. Currently its going to get some catchcan mods, suspension, and tire upgrades.

Brian’s R32 GT-R

This is still our lead development car for track-focused GT-R tuning. With each event, the car gets faster, and the data keeps teaching us something new—especially on suspension tuning, diff temp management, and aerodynamic tweaks.

Experiments & Oddities

  • Left Turn Camera Project (RHD safety idea)
  • Electronic AWD Conversion Concepts (FX transfer + R35 solenoid control)
  • Hybrid Assist (BAS-style integration)
  • Fan and Radiator Testing
  • Consult I Data Projects (monitoring, sensor output, closed-loop logic)
  • Plus a few more things...

Its got Sony guts

R34 MFD Projects

We’ve been working on multiple ideas around the R34 Multi-Function Display (MFD). These include original unit repairs and upgraded replacements that maintain the factory look while improving reliability and adding sensor support. One prototype keeps the stock shell but adds new graphics and consult inputs—another is a full digital display in a plug-and-play form.

Technical Data & Testing

BAS Hybrid Dyno Charts

We’ve been looking at Belt Alternator Starter (BAS) units, checking out the torque-fill and regen potential. Low-end torque increases could be measurable, though modest—but the packaging potential and simplicity make it worth exploring for some use cases.

NVCS Charts

Testing NVCS timing activation points showed improvements in boost threshold and midrange drivability. Slight cam timing changes make more difference than you'd expect when dialed for real-world driving.

New Coil Testing

We’ve been testing a number of R35-style and aftermarket coil packs. Some show better performance at high RPM under load, especially with proper dwell control and heat management.

Reverse Cooling Development

We’re experimenting with reverse-flow cooling on the RB platform. Head-first flow provides better temperature consistency under boost and reduces localized knock risk. Early testing includes plumbing mockups and simulation.

GTRUSA & GT-R Assistant

GTRUSA.com

The new GTRUSA site is being rebuilt on WordPress for better SEO, organization, and blog integration. It will serve as a central hub for parts guides, import data, and general GT-R knowledge.

GT-R Assistant

We’re prototyping a GT-R-specific AI assistant that can answer common questions, surface specs, and cross-reference blog posts, tech data, and part numbers. Early access tools are being tested now.

Aero, Comfort, and Modernization

Aero Work

We’re testing real aero pieces on track: splitters, diffusers, and fender vents. Data from temps, tire wear, and GPS overlays is helping us shape better-functioning packages.

Swapping the A052R for the Hoosier R7's on Ernies R32 GT-R

Smart Mirror System

For R32–R34, we’re working on a digital mirror retrofit that includes a backup cam, blind spot view, dashcam functionality, and possible telemetry overlays—OEM feel, modern function.

Interior Comfort Mods

  • Heated/cooled seat retrofits
  • Better sound insulation
  • Updated lighting
  • Plug-in power upgrades and discreet modern touches

Blog Plans

There are over 50 draft blog posts in progress, covering everything from subframe swaps to obscure tech hacks. Stay tuned for more posts—and maybe some weird stuff we haven’t even thought of yet.

🏁 Nissan Challenge Round 4 – Trackside Support, Ernie’s R32, and Some Familiar Faces

Greg's R35, and Brian's R32 GT-R at Streets of Willow Springs
Greg's R35, and Brian's R32 GT-R at Streets of Willow Springs

Event: Nissan Challenge Round 4 – HTAC vs. Nissan Challenge
Location: Streets of Willow (Clockwise)
Date: May 2025

Round 4 brought out a great field of Nissans to Streets of Willow, with a friendly but fast-paced competition against HTAC and Nissan Challenge. The weather was surprisingly cooperative — cool and clear, a nice change from the typical Willow oven.

I was out supporting Ernie and Brian J. with their R32 GT-Rs, along with checking in on a few other friends like Greg Messinger in his R35. The Bulldog Racing guys, Ernie and Greg both Marines, with Shawn and his son doing support.

🔧 Trackside Notes from the Pits

🏎️ Ernie’s Saurus R32 GT-R

We’re chasing an issue where the catch can is pushing oil — possibly a combination of blow-by and breather routing. We did try rerouting it. It popped an intercooler pipe a couple times. The OS88 can be hard to shift at times. Something that Ernie has been learning and working on.  We’ll keep refining the setup and may look at venting solutions or modifying crankcase evacuation. His best lap later in the day running with Greg was around a 1:22.

🏎️ Brian Jannusch’s R32 GT-R

We worked on dialing in tire pressures and added a little boost. The result was a more confident car through the mid-corners, but there's still a lot of time left on the table. The diff in the car is bad. Its really hard to give it any throttle on corner exit.  The trans is showing its age. Its occasionally hard to get into gear.

🏎️ Greg Messinger’s R35 GT-R

Greg had a solid day. He found some loose bolts in his suspension, added some stiffer springs and picked up a ton of time vs the last few times he was out.

📊 Class Results

Greg Messinger – R35 – 1:21.406

Class 1

  • 🥇 Charles Park – R35 – 1:20.820

📸 Event Media

Yearly tradition

Alvin was out capturing pictures all day, Other than his nap. Big shoutout to SoCal Motorsports West and Brianna for capturing action shots all day long. d podiums online later.

Always bring your helmet

🧰 What’s Next

We’ll take some time over the summer to regroup. Brian’s R32 will get the differential, transmission, and a few other things it needs. Ernie’s oil issues will get more attention on the lift. And we’ll be back with more cars, more tuning, and more laps at  Buttonwillow The Classic- Round 5 - September 13.

See you at the next one — or find me trackside with tools in hand.
