Ever wanted to import a left hand drive Nissan Skyline GT-R? From Nissan, the R34 Skyline GT-R was only ever produced as a right hand drive model. . This car was a one off car, done in the US by a company that no longer exists. They did an R33 GTR and an R34 GTR. The R33 is somewhere in the US , although I have not heard of it in a while. The R34 went to Australia , got a big build , and then it was exported to the Philippines.

I drove this Bayside Blue (TV2) R34 Skyline GT-R briefly, and it was a little bit different. I am so used to driving GT-R's right hand drive , that sitting on the left hand side felt a bit funny. It had to have the rear turbo outlet tube modified to clear the steering shaft , and it had many other modifications to make it work , but it did work. However, it was not worth it for most people. They didn't want to pay a huge amount of money just to drive on the left side. Alexander passed away this year.  March 9th. Pen in hand, working on his next project.

Thanks for proving that a LHD skyline was produced, I find it hard to believe but the photos prove it. If you have anymore info on this or find any can you please post it.

There are more cars in the middle east , another R33 here in the US. It was not produced by Nissan, rather by small companies that took the right hand drive car and converted them.

There aren't that many legal R34's in the US. Around 12 cars total. Each one trades hands for a lot of money. There are illegal cars, or you can wait until they are over 25 years old.

The Skyline had a straight six in it. Not a V6. And there's no facts to prove that it's the most modified car in the world, it's one of the easiest to modify, but not the most modified.

I'm the one who got screwed in that deal...Most of the good parts on that car were pillaged off of my R34 GTR, my car was cut up firewall etc., to provide data for the build, then my car got left and my money stolen from Alexander from Skyline motors (the LHD guy)..My car has sat in the FTZ with me paying every month since 2005...

i saw the lhd r33 about two years ago and i didn't believe my eyes when i saw it. Very Very pristine. It's a work of art to say the least. I do know this much thou the import is legit(motorex). When i talked to the owner he said that he's the only person stateside to own it. Unless you count motorex. If your wondering where I saw it, it's a small town called Deland,FL.

Very interesting, domain manager, email me on my site www.thisisrace.com
You're probably the only one that likes Skyline GT-R's more than I do.
After lecturing my friends and everyone else who doesn't understand the legalities, I wrote an article on it myself, I'd like to talk to you about it and put your site link on mine. Contact me on thisisrace.com/contact.

Thanks man,

Mike

What was the estimated cost out of curiosity, and which vehicle were the LHD components used from?

Sean Morris said...

I really don't know the cost, but in Australia LHD to RHD conversions are generally in the $20k range. Parts, as far as I can tell, or figure out were from 300ZX.
