Each chassis number is the first chassis number built that month. For example in August 1989, BNR32-000054 to BNR32-001088 were built or 1034 cars.

If you check FAST, you get a slightly different number. So always be a little careful

No. You have to know the rest of the numbers to determine the build date.
I don't know what port of entry most of the people on here are using but I believe most of the ports of entry between US and Canada go by year date not month of year.. That is to say an 89 is viewed as 25 years old in 2015
Also I know here in ND our DMV veiws all the r32 series as the same regardless of the year.. Their theory is the engine spec may be different but the chassis are assembled the same
We know at least two guys, that had a lot of problems with vehicle dates. If its correct, no problem. If its wrong, they can still go after you later, for falsely giving information.

BNR32-013621 the car is KH2, gunmetal, FAST says it was manufactured in December 1990.
