Axeling and Spark Plugging

A couple weeks back, I removed the right side axle on the 1990 NISMO Nissan Skyline GT-R #500, and did some cleanup. Prior to the SoCal Nissan GT-R Invasion 2, I had to get the car back together and threw some new spark plugs in it.  As long as I was there, I figured it was a good time to trace down some oil leaks, and install the divided twin turbo pipe. Stock turbocharger compressor outlet gasket x 3 per car(you only need 1 if just doing the pipe) - 14465-05U11 or A4465-05U11

I should have ordered a coil harness before I took the car apart. As usual, the coil harness cooks in the engine valley, and it was a bit crispy. Ebay app on the phone ordered a harness, but it wouldn't make it in time.

Coil packs removed. The car had some Champion Iridium plugs in it
New BCPR7EIX on the left, Champion plug on the right
I like using T-handles on spark plugs. Keep you from putting too much torque on the plugs.

Water had collected around one plug at some point.
Car ran fine, but doesn't look that good

Cam cover removed

The engine had a slight leak that I wanted to fix. The screws holding the cam covers down were a little loose, but I wanted to pull the exhaust cam cover off to check out the 1/2 moon at the back of the head. Part number for the 1/2 moon - 11051-58S00

The "1/2 moon" at the back of the head. These get crispy, its a good idea to replace them. 11051-58S00

I have the modified twin turbo pipe in my R, as well. Noticed a much smoother spool up right away.

Very much worth the $150 I paid for mine a few years ago.

Its almost silly how much better it makes the car. Minimizes or eliminates shuffle. Gains power. Its one of those no downside mods.
