Brakes : Aftermarket Parts interference : Brake Pads and Two Piece Rotors

Brake pad to rotor interference. The OEM pads only have a squealer on one side

This is one of things, when you work on cars with aftermarket parts, you need to double check before final assembly. In this case, I was swapping from the Carbotech XP-12 racing brake pads, to a set that would be a little more street friendly.  While I enjoy race brakes, on the street it sounded something like a freight train.  It seemed like a good time to throw my two piece stock size 296 mm rotors on too.  The two piece rotors are about 4 lbs lighter than the OEM rotors. These are an old part, that is no longer made, and I am not even sure I remember the name of the manufacturer

For something cheap and easy to throw in the car, I bought a set of Stoptech 309.06470 brake pads for the front. However these are the same pad inner and outer. On a normal rotor, that wouldn't be an issue, but with my two piece rotors, I now have an interference issue. And of course I didn't rotate the wheel when it was in the air. I didn't check to see if there was interference.

Luckily I had an extra set of pads on the shelf, and I took the squealer off a couple pads, so then I will clear up my interference issue.
