Essex 1043 whp Dynochart
I posted the video of Essex's car up on You Tube a few years ago. Its just a video of the car running on the dyno, rear wheel drive. On a GT-R its pretty easy to make rear wheel drive. The safe way for an R33 or R34 is to remove the front drive/propshaft. The Nissan Skyline GT-R all wheel drive system is called ATTESA. Some ATTESA information.
About 50% the comments say its a GTS, because its running rear wheel drive. About 25% ask about the lights, which I have no idea over , and the other 25% say it doesn't "sound like 1000hp." Theres the dyno chart.

Carbon Fiber Roll Cage
I was looking at Bens blog and noticed a post on Carbon Fiber Roll Cages. Interesting. I had to investigate it a little more. They only have applications for 996 and 997's and I am sure they are expensive, but very interesting.
The more carbon fiber, the better. Oakley Design even lists titanium body 4 way adjustable suspension. Very cool for the uber carbon fiber and titanium nerd I am .

Max Q Data : Data and Video Acquisition
I bought a Max Q Data VeQtr system today. I have been looking around for something decent, inexpensive, with a lap timer. The VeQtr system offers video logging with 2 cameras on the base unit , and telemetry overlay.
Our most popular VeQtr system combines the MQGPS-HiDef with a small netbook computer that captures the video and data and allows immediate viewing of the results. Two high-quality webcams can be mounted anywhere on the vehicle to provide many exciting video angles.² Supports up to four cameras.³ Operation is fully automatic - both data and video are triggered by vehicle speed, and both include a preroll buffer to capture data and video before the trigger point. You never again have to remember to turn on your camera! Out the front window of Jeffs R32.4. Looking at the Freestyle Motorcross jump at Hot Import Nights. This time there was go karts from Dromo 1 , drifting demos, a barrel race ,freestyle motorcross , not a bad show even though it only took up a corner of a parking lot.

California Reintroduces Bill to Require ANNUAL Emissions Tests for Vehicles 15-Years Old and Older
Here we go again! Legislation (A.B. 859) has been reintroduced in the California Assembly by Assemblyman Dave Jones (Assemblymember.jones@assembly.ca.gov) to require annual Smog check inspections for vehicles 15-years old and older. The bill would also require that funds generated through the additional inspection fees be deposited into an account which can be used to scrap older cars. You may recall that in 2004 a new law was enacted in California to require the lifetime testing of all 1976 and newer model-year vehicles. Pre-1976 motor vehicles would remain exempt under A.B. 859. The bill has been referred to the Assembly Transportation Committee.
We Urge You to Contact Assemblyman Jones and Members of the Assembly Transportation Committee (List Below) Immediately to Oppose A.B.
859
A.B. 859 ignores the minimal impact vintage cars have on air quality.
A.B. 859 could entice vintage car owners into allowing these vehicles to be scrapped.
A.B. 859 ignores the fact that vehicles 15-years old and older still constitute a small portion of the overall vehicle population and are a poor source from which to look for emissions reduction.
A.B. 859 ignores the fact that classic vehicles are overwhelmingly well-maintained and infrequently driven.
A.B. 859 would increase costs by creating an annual inspection fee for owners of these vehicles.
A.B. 859 represents another attempt by California legislators and regulators to scapegoat older cars.
Please contact members of the California Assembly Transportation Committee immediately by phone, fax or e-mail to request their opposition to A.B. 859.

Fast and Furious 4 : The Bridge Trailer
One scene I got to see about 40 times during the filming. No amount of complaining would bring a GT-R dash for the GTS one.... they had it rigged to move prior to me showing up. Its all good. Still looks pretty decent. I know what happens right after... I know who wins... who do you think wins ?

The last event was a lot of fun. Lots of tracktime ,and a very mellow and relaxed atmosphere.

I've locked down Buttonwillow Raceway RACE 13CW for March 30th, right after RedLine Time Attack weekend. We will be making a weekend out of it like last time, Watching Red Line on Sunday - Our very own NEO will be in Red Line with his GTR and Silvia! Then staying in Bakersfield and Ripping it up on Monday! The top cars on the West Coast scene will be in attendance!
Craig Lieberman has confirmed to do a full video coverage of this event in HD. He is bringing all of his equipment and we will be recording various in car, on car, and trackside HD video. We also have pro photographers coming out to take shots all day. I will do HDR photos of your car near end of day as well (See Sample Pics Below).

John Oshima’s 1977 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-EX
JTuned just posted up an artile on a 1977 Nissan Skyline. Old Skool , Classic. Older than a lot of people I know, not older than me though.
The 1977 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-EX dubbed the GC210 was produced from 1977 to 1981 in Tochigi, Japan after Nissan dropped the GT-R line (only to return with the introduction of the R32). While not the turbocharged all-wheel drive monster that comes to mind with the name Skyline, this GC210 still proves itself formidable with a L28 engine bored out to produce 2.9 liters of displacement. After 32 years John Oshima’s 1977 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-EX has proven itself tough enough for the test of time, rightfully reminding us all of the Skyline’s “Godzilla” alias.Check out the rest of the photography over at JTuned.
