The HKS R33 Drag GT-R has long been one of the most recognized symbols of the HKS global brand, and held the title to world's fastest AWD Drag car for almost five years with its remarkable 7.671 secondNow RIPS Racing, from New Zealand, is nibbling at the heels of the Heat Treatments car. Yesterday, they went 7.48@189 mph in their RB30 powered, powerglide equipped R32. Check out some of the videos, several views below.
pass at Japan's Sendai circuit in October 2001.
7.48 @ 189mph. Man I can't wait to get some decent sized tyres on this thing so we can hit it harder off the line
Finally into the 7.4s. Done on 26 x 10in tyres, E85 fuel at 1300kg with a pretty gentle 60ft of 1.23. Can't wait to see what we can do with 28in tyres, methanol, a decent turbo and some weight out of the car. Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us this season, we've had a blast!!!Buy-R.com for Nissan Skyline GT-R and GT-R parts.
3rd run is the 7.69 @ 182mph
RIPS FED various recent runs from Taupo and Meremere
The car has performed flawlessly all week and Mark and Joe have done a great job maintaining the car and making sure Steve and Phillip have exactly what they needed all week. Jodi and Vivian (Phillip’s wife) have been great team moms and looked after the service crew and the drivers better than anyone could have asked for. We are all very happy to come home with the drivers and car all together in one piece and with a very strong finish! I am pretty sure this is Steve’s best finish in a Targa Rally and the competition is fierce! Tony Quinn is a great driver and has a lot of Targa experience with his GT-R having competed in three New Zealand Targa’s as well as others in Australia. Glenn Inkster is a very talented driver and will surely make a name for himself in the Rally scene. Watching him flick his Evo through turns is a thing of beauty!
Drag racing is alive and well in Australia this weekend. Cars from all over the world are headed to Willowbank drag strip in Australia
Gather round Australia, this weekend we defend our honour against the invading hordes from Puerto Rico; as well as from our more traditional rivals – the Kiwis!
For the first time ever, Jamboree will be streamed live on the Internet where Drag-Racing fans from 38 different countries can log in to watch live racing action on both days comprising of four cameras covering the 250+ entrants.
There will be a 150km exclusion zone for the South East Queensland pocket, if you live within this zone, your only opportunity to catch the action is to attend Jamboree and soak up the atmosphere in person.
“The Jamboree is the epicenter of Custom Car Culture in Australia, the ‘must attend’ event each year for Australia’s wildest and most expensive rides. With more than 120 Custom Cars set to feature across the weekend, including Queen Street’s 24 karat Gold Plated BMW M3 which is worth a cool million bucks, there won’t be a dull moment.
Saturday will see qualifying from 9.30am to 7.30pm, before racing takes place on Sunday from 9.30am to 5.00pm. Please see below for a full event schedule. Visit the www.westreamlive.com.au website, where you can pre-register and access live streaming for just $5 a day, that’s incredible value!

We are having some success..but also having to re-adjust to this sticky track,so much different than what we are use to.
We are changing gearbox ratios today,as our 60ft times are suffering with the car bogging down,
as we normally run consistent 1.18 1.20
And even on our last run of the day (7.73@187) we ran a 1.32 60ft and were 3 tenths slower to the half track, but the mph was good 149.8mph.
If we can find those 3 tenths to the half track?
Time will tell.

The Heat Treatments R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R went back onto the dyno just a few days ago, and found even more power. The last dyno numbers that were shown on the Heat Treatments site showed 1667 hp. Now with a bigger exhaust, and other modifications the car put down an additional 115 hp to the wheels, or it should be around 1782 hp.
They will be trying the new setup, with the increased power at the Jamboree in Queensland Australia on 21-22 August 2010.

The Worlds Fastest GT-R, the Heat Treatments R32 was out at the 2010 4’s and Rotary Nationals at Meremere, New Zealand.
In this video Reece McGregor takes the car on a fairly wild ride down the drag strip.
Some of the best moments were getting a 9.7 in Ludders full weight R34 GTR street car on its very first pass, getting the world record for full street 240z with an 8.71 @ 162mph, building the worlds first RB33 and topping 1200hp/9000rpm with a fully water cooled RB street engine using a stock RB30 block, crank and cradle at just 1.8 bar
And here is the rest of it.
