The transfer case in a Nissan Skyline GT-R transmits power to the rear wheels though a direct coupling to the transmission.  Internally to the transfer case, there is a clutch pack that is driven from the main shaft.  When the ATTESA system puts hydraulic pressure on the clutch pack, through the ATTESA pump, power is transmitted though a chain in the transfer case to the front drive section, then through a prop shaft to the front differential
