Ernie and myself took a quick trip up to Monterey for Car week. Just about a 26 hour stint. Left LA early morning on Wednesday, and were back in LA by Thursday night. Its about a 6 hour trip each way, for our ride, we took a Bayside Blue R34 GT-R. 

Car Week in Monterey, often referred to as Monterey Car Week, is a renowned automotive event held annually in Monterey, California. It usually takes place in mid-August and is celebrated for its luxury, classic, and exotic cars. R's Day USA 2018 at Autoclub Speedway

R's Day USA 2018 was on October 6, 2018 at Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, California. The last two years were at Laguna Seca, but this year the event was a little closer to home( NO NOISE RESTRICTIONS). The R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R that I drove at the event, is the same one I have drove for the last two events. 2016.  2017. Same car I drove at Hoonigan.

Changes from last time. Bluecar Prep

• Nismo R-Tune (Ohlins Flag R) coilovers. I managed to find a used set for a decent price, and they were worth every penny

• Brake ducts (unknown maker,a Yahoo purchase)

R's Day this year was part of a Speedventures event, we just made up our own run group. Its always good to see as many GT-R on track as there were here.  Plus the venue had room for plenty of vendors, along with a car show area. I just heard about those last two things, as I was with the car most of the day. The way I like it.

NISSFEST 2015 at Auto Club Speedway In Fontana

NISMO N-Attack R35 GT-R built by STILLEN

Our original plan was to run NISMO #500 at NISSfest 2015 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana on November 21, 2015, but work got in the way.  Since we weren't going to run the R32 GT-R, we were going to give it a pass.  However since we are so close to Fontana, we decided to have a booth in the vendor area.  Amy from Automotive Forums was in town, it seemed like a good time to bring out the R34 N1 Super Taikyu - World Challenge race car.  Its been nearly 10 years since the car ran in anger. Its been about a year since it even saw the light of day.  Although we didn't run the car on the track, this time, the plan is to prep it to be at least track ready.

The R34 is one of two that were imported as race cars, with full NHTSA and EPA approval. For more information on that process - read here -
