This is a run down of how the ATTESA 4wd system works and what problems can occur with the pump and how to confirm/diagnose the issue when there's no codes from the computer. if this doesn't help you try the workshop manual. there are flow charts for diagnosis in there for specific codes but this is how i diagnosed mine when i wasn;t getting any codes.

Turbolag : RB26DETT

This is some old information. Will clean it up later. Just moving it from an even older site. 

The perception of turbo lag as it relates to RB26 powered vehicles. The dyno charts shown below are in no means scientific. They are done on different days, different cars, different setups. What we are looking at is overall ideas.

On this setup lets look at some horsepower levels and corresponding rpms. I want to start most at around 3000 rpms as thats where we start most of our Dynapack runs.
Looking at the blue stock line on these runs 8 psi on stock turbos, stock engine
3000 rpms 80 whp
3500 rpms 110 whp
4000 rpms 150 whp
4500 rpms 180 whp
5000 rpms 200 whp
5500 rpms 220 whp
6000 rpms 225 whp
6500 rpms 230 whp
7000 rpms 230 whp
7500 rpms 225 whp

This chart is a stock turbo car, with the boost cranked way up... 25 psi. Big dip is a boost cut.

Barely Legal R32 GT-R and Pao on Hoonigan Daily Transmission : #Bluecar On today's episode of Daily Transmission, Nads brings in Sean Morris who shows us how to legally import unique JDM cars into the states the right way.
Made a little bit of a mess
Our old friend, wait. He isn't that old. Or maybe he is. Anyway, John Naderi invited us out to a Hoonigan Daily Transmission.  Since we needed to bring something that we could "scumbag" in, we decided to bring the #bluecar.  Not driven much since R's Day, it got moved from Cypress, to the Hanger, to my house. Still had more than 1/2 a tank of race gas, and good tires.

The one thing I wanted to try was a center spin. Not much space at Hoonigan, with the car on 1 bar of boost, 275 RE71R all around, plus the grip there, I had them put some water down to try and help me out a bit.

The first time, I got it center spinning fairly decently, but ran out of room. The 2nd time was a bit more like a donut than a center spin, but during it, I managed to tap the dock with the exhaust. Results of that below.

R32, R33, R34 Brembo Brakes : Brake Upgrades : Brake Downgrades

Brakes:  Overlooked by most.  Sort of important if you want your car to stop.  Also important, tires, but this post is about brakes. We have an entire post on the Sumitomo brakes that came standard on the R32 GT-R.  I realized that I have not put much specific brake information about the Brembo brakes that come on the R32 Vspec and Vspec II , R33, and R34 GT-R.  There are also upgrade brake kits such as the F40 (343 mm), F50(355 mm), and R35(380mm 09-11, 390mm 12 up) calipers and rotors, which are popular swaps for these cars. 

How to Identify Your Brakes: 

This is important. With cars that are over 25 years old, there is no telling what brakes are actually on the car. Even though it "should" be something, or seems like something, it might not be. 

1. Remove brake pad and trace the outline from one pad.  This will give you a shape that almost any decent race brake shop can identify. 

2. Measure rotor diameter and thickness- front and rear

Without doing this, you really are just guessing.

The R32 Vspec and Vspec II got a brake upgrade in the form of Brembo calipers, and larger rotors front and rear.  324mm x 30 mm Brembo front vs a 296 mm x 32 mm Sumitomo/Nissan front.

Worlds Quickest Stock Bottom End RB-26 GTR? It would appear that is the case, and it’s about time! Battling the blues of basement 10’s, Andrew has been aiming to break the barrier into the stock bottom end RB-26 record! Seeking out the true potential of this RB platform, this engine has been gradually pushed harder and harder while Andrew has kept his fingers crossed! This progress of this Nissan GTR owned and piloted by Andrew Hawkins of Jet Multimedia, can be found on MotiveDVD’s Youtube channel where they dive into the build in greater detail! Now that the goal has been achieved, Andrew and the MotiveDVD team have much bigger plans for the car while still retaining the street and track performance this car was truly built for!

Full Race ETS Pro Install and Testing

I just realized that I never posted pictures from my Full Race ETS-Pro install into my NISMO R32 GT-R. First off, the OEM ATTESA system is over 25 years old. Back in 1990 it worked pretty well, but since then computers and sensors have both improved.  The nice part about the Full Race ETS Pro, is that it is a complete replacement for the OEM ATTESA computer, and G-Sensor.  Its adjustable, allows you to run RWD only, and dial in the amount of torque split.

We ran it at Buttonwillow road racing, at at Auto Club Dragway. Both times were noticeable differences in how the torque was split in the car.
