Heat Treatments R32 GT-R : Top Fuel Meeting 2011

The 1782 whp Heat Treatments Nissan GT-R is in Australia for the Top Fuel event at Willowbank Dragway in Brisbane, Australia. This is the worlds fastest GT-R with a 7.57@190 mph time a few years ago, ran a best time this year of a 7.65@181 mph on March 13th.  During that pass, they said they ran the best 1/8th mile time, that they have ever turned in the car.


On the first pass of the day, the car hooked hard enough off the line to break an axle.Earlier today, they ran a 7.93@176 mph with the clutch slipping from mid track.


They have replaced the clutch, done some tune up on it, and are looking to lower their record 1/4 mile run. Within the next few hours, we should see some new results. Good luck to the team.

7.48 @189 mph. RIPS R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R Gets Into the 40's

The quickest and fastest Nissan Skyline GT-R in the world has been the Heat Treatments R32 GT-R.  March of 2013, Heat Treatments and Reece McGregor went 7.41@193 mph.   Since 2007, when Heat Treatments beat the HKS R33 GT-R, it has been the top dog.  The HKS car held the top spot for nearly 5 years, but Heat Treatments brought the title to New Zealand.

The HKS R33 Drag GT-R has long been one of the most recognized symbols of the HKS global brand, and held the title to world's fastest AWD Drag car for almost five years with its remarkable 7.671 second
pass at Japan's Sendai circuit in October 2001. 

Now RIPS Racing, from New Zealand, is nibbling at the heels of the Heat Treatments car.  Yesterday, they went 7.48@189 mph in their RB30 powered, powerglide equipped R32. Check out some of the videos, several views below.

Finally into the 7.4s. Done on 26 x 10in tyres, E85 fuel at 1300kg with a pretty gentle 60ft of 1.23. Can't wait to see what we can do with 28in tyres, methanol, a decent turbo and some weight out of the car. Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us this season, we've had a blast!!!

The Heat Treatments car hasn't been real active, as they were only pushing their own record down. Now they have  another New Zealand car close to their record. RIPS sounds like they might want to push the car into the 6 second range all wheel drive. 7.48 isn't bad on the tracks in New Zealand. The prep is not as good as the prep in some other countries. So if this car travels, even in the current setup, who knows how fast it might go.

Heat Treatments R32 GT-R : Drag Racing

8-20 Update: Heat Treatments broke the output shaft on their Liberty transmission. The racing is over for this weekend. Next event is in November.

Update:  Testing in Australia, getting the clutch setup correct.  Best pass was a 7.73 @ 187 mph getting loose.


Update from Heat Treatments Team: 

We are having some success..but also having to re-adjust to this sticky track,so much different than what we are use to.
We are changing gearbox ratios today,as our 60ft times are suffering with the car bogging down,
as we normally run consistent 1.18 1.20
And even on our last run of the day (7.73@187) we ran a 1.32 60ft and were 3 tenths slower to the half track, but the mph was good 149.8mph.

If we can find those 3 tenths to the half track?

Time will tell.

The Worlds Fastest Nissan Skyline GT-R is in Australia at WIllowbank race track today doing some testing . The first pass resulted in a big bog, and they have adjusted the clutch to allow some more slip off the line.

1794 Horsepower RB26 Engine on the Dyno

Check out the Worlds Fastest Nissan Skyline GT-R's engine on the dyno in New Zealand. The engine from the Heat Treatments R32 is on methanol, and not doing bad for 2.6 liters.  They say its 164 cubic inches - or about 2687 cc.  Stock the engine is 156 cubic inches or 2568 cc.  They have gone 7.41@193 mph and supposedly made as much as 1780 horsepower to the wheels, so not sure if this is a step up.

Heat Treatments are tuning a VQ35 engine for a rear wheel drive drag car, and the RB26 for the R32. This is what they had to say.
"GTR boost was 55lb and the VQ was only 35lb... VQ made its power easy."

The VQ head is much better than the old RB26 head, and there is no replacement for displacement. Especially displacement and technology.

The Heat Treatments Drag Racing team's Nissan Skyline RB26 (164.58 cubic inch) Inline 6 cylinder engine makes 6 horsepower less than 1800 running methanol controlled by a MoTeC M800 Engine Management System calibrated by Shane Tecklenburg (Tuned by Shane T). Engine was designed and manufactured in house at the Heat Treatments Ltd. factory in Auckland, New Zealand.

Heat Treatments R32 Skyline GT-R Sets New Record : 7.53@185 mph

The worlds fastest Nissan Skyline GT-R has just gone quicker in testing today at Willowbank Raceway in Australia.  The Heat Treatments R32 has been solidly in the 7 second range with a previous best of 7.56 @184.95 mph.  They have just recently installed a newer more powerful engine, and managed a 7.53@185 mph at "low" boost.  When you are on alcohol, and used to big boost, low would be all relative.  They have gone as fast as 191 mph with older setups.

Hay there guys, what a cool day! sunny weather and kool cars everywhere. Off the trailer the GTR ran a 7.56 @ 185mph, next run was 7.60 @ 185mph and then a 7.53 @ 185mph which dropped the record by a bit. Crazy thing is the boost was low and it still banged out this time! Next meeting will be the Winter Nats warm-up meeting!

Heat Treatments GT-R vs Godzilla GT-R : Jamboree 2011 Video

R32 GT-R vs R32 GT-R. Two of the quickest Nissan Skyline GT-R's in the world.  The Godzilla car runs a very quick 7.80 pass. The Heat Treatments car looks like it has some issues and finishes with a 8.60.

 

I saw this car in some of Heat Treatments photos on face book. It looks like it sports Infiniti headlights/tailights. Probably VQ powered. In this video it runs a 6.90 pass.

Jamboree 2011 : Heat Treatments R32

The worlds fastest Nissan Skyline GT-R, the Heat Treatments R32 from New Zealand, is in Australia for the Jamboree 2011 in Brisbane.   With Reece Mcgregor at the helm, the car has gone as quick as 7.56 @ 181 mph, and as fast as 7.57@191 mph.  At over 1780 horsepower to the wheels, this little RB26 makes insane power. Heat Treatments has been posting some updates, and some of their trials with setting up the slider clutch assembly. When the car is this quick, and makes this much power, its all about managing power to the tires.  Too much, and the car gets very unstable. Not enough and it bogs.  The sweet spot for clutch setup is a moving target.  No results so far on their Facebook page for Saturday, but Sunday is still too come.

Update:

.. we got there in the end, we got the clutch to work alot better for us on the last pass, we also found that the shift light was sending false flashes which was driving Reece mad as he through he was seeing things, once that was sorted we changed to the M/T slicks, the result was a 7.63 @ 183 mph. We have to thank the people that made it all happen, Terry and Rod from Ray Glass Racing for there clutch help, Nick and the boys from APC for the tune and Ben Bray.

We finished 4th in our class, Rod won his Pro Turbo class.

Most Powerful GT-R in the World Gets More Power

The Heat Treatments R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R went back onto the dyno just a few days ago, and found even more power.  The last dyno numbers that were shown on the Heat Treatments site showed 1667 hp. Now with a bigger exhaust, and other modifications the car put down an additional  115 hp to the wheels, or it should be around 1782 hp.

They will be trying the new setup, with the increased power at the Jamboree in Queensland Australia on 21-22 August 2010.

World's Fastest Nissan Skyline GT-R from Heat Treatments

Drag racing. We have nearly forgot what it is here in the US, with all this drifting, and attacking time that goes on. This Saturday in Sydney Australia, some of the worlds fastest import cars go head to head.

Here is a preview of the Heat Treatments R32 GT-R testing recently. Watch how loose it gets on the 7.98 pass. He spun, lifted, went sideways, and still went 7's.

7.60@180 mph : 2nd Quickest Nissan Skyline in the World

Godzilla Motorsports managed a best pass of 7.60@180 mph recently, putting it at the #2 spot in the world behind the Heat Treatments R32.

Mark piloted the Godzilla Motorsports R32 GT-R to a 7.60 @ 180mph (into a strong headwind) making it the second quickest GT-R in the world, beating HKS at 7.67 and now only trailing the Heat Treatments GT-R at 7.56.

RIPS MGAWOT III - 7.78 @ 178 MPH

Robbie from RIPS in New Zealand just got his first 7 second pass in the MGAWOT III. 178 mph shows its making some power. A 1.26 60 is good, but the Heat Treatments R32 sees some 1.1 - 1.0 60 foots.  Every tenth of a second normally translates to about 0.2 at the big end.

Great day after all. It rained 2 or 3 times but we got out 4 times. 7.80, 7.86, 7.78, 7.80 all at 180-181mph. Happy team all things considered. We need some fresh tyres then we can try to wind it up some more.

Heat Treatments R32 Nissan GT-R: 7.53 @ 185 mph video

The Heat Treatments R32 GT-R driven by Reece McGregor has held the Nissan Skyline GT-R quarter mile record since 2006.  This video shows the car going 7.53 @ 185 mph. That is the quickest 1/4 mile, but they have gone as fast as 191 mph in the quarter.

Heat Treatments Nissan Skyline GT-R Goes 7.41@193

The Heat Treatments R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R is in Australia, and set a new personal best, and new record.  They ran a 7.45 and a 7.41 at a huge 193 mph.
Check out the video below. They said they were going to start running the 350Z if they went 7.4 in the R32, but hopefully they keep running it. 6's and 200 mph would be cool to see in the old R32.

Reece Mcgregor has today reset his own world record for the quickest 4wd powered car in the world. The team have been working extremely hard for many years to break out of the 7.5 (pb 7.53) zone and today, absolutely smashed it, firstly with a 7.45 @ 193, followed by the record setting 7.41 @ 193 mph. 

Big congratulations on a lot of hard work which eventually paid off. The team planned to release their Nissan 350z drag car once the car broke into the 7.4s, and we'll be waiting patiently for their next move.

Heat Treatments R32 GT-R Runs 198 MPH : New Record Speed

All wheel drive, and nearly 200 mph in the quarter - 198.9 mph.  The worlds quickest Nissan GT-R is getting faster. They didn't improve on their previous best 7.41 pass, but the MPH shows the car is making big, big power. Will they hit 200 mph?   Check out the video below.

Well in testing for the Jamboree on August 30th, Reece and his Heat Treatments Racing Skyline R32 GTR has reset his own speed record to a huge 198 MPH while running 7.58. It took a long time for the Heat Treatments R32 GT-R, to unseat the HKS R33 GT-R as top dog in the 1/4 mile drag racing, AWD, 4wd world.  Once Heat Treatments took the crown, it was many years before the RIPS R32 GT-R took the title.   Then the R35 GT-R really started to come into their own, and dominated the older Nissan Skyline GT-R in drag racing.  Proving that there is no replacement for displacement?  Billet V6 engines displacing 3.8, 4.0, up to 4.4 liters.  Big, huge front mounted twin turbos. The R35 is a much bigger, more aerodynamic car. They can fit more tire, and can make more power.

Then the R32 GT-R guys in Australia started getting serious. The Kiwis were on top for a long time, but some competition really started to stir the pot.   Automatic transmissions, from Powerglides to TH400. From cast iron RB30 blocks, to billet blocks.  3.2 liters of displacement.  Huge pro-mod turbos. 

The R35's went into the 6 second range first, but the R32 GT-R did follow.  Now the Metro R32 GT-R is the quickest, eclipsing Gidi's 6.541 @ 225 mph pass.

Maatouks Racing has always been a name associated with crazily fast cars, mental builds and record breaking times.

This time it was different we lost one of our most dearest brothers Sam Metro to a tragic car accident, he was the owner of our METRO GTR. We made a promise to him that his car would be the car that sat on top of the outright list of AWD supremacy.

Yesterday that promise came true but we didn’t just give him one record like he asked we took a bundle of records whilst on our quest.

The first record we took was the “Quickest GTR record” that meaning any GTR and Skyline to ever be produced.

Secondly we naturally took the record for “Quickest R32 Skyline”

Thirdly “Quickest AWD” what a record to have no other AWD car on planet earth is quicker!!

Then the rest tumbled “Quickest import IRS”, “Quickest import on radials”
“Quickest and fastest Automatic RB”
“Australia’s Quickest 275 radial”

But our biggest achievement was keeping our promise!! Anyone can build a car with money and machinery but to us it was all determination and heart by fulfilling our promise no money can buy this making this record the best one we have.

Fly high our brother we know you are with us so we fly together!!

Now turn those speakers up and listen to this car reset those world records!!!!!!!
